In an architecture competition for “Highrise 99 West,” I led the design of a distinctive highrise situated between Bockenheim, Westend, and the lively exhibition grounds. Our concept harmonized with the neighboring hybrid high-rise, deliberately avoiding competition with its bustling facade. Retaining the basic volume of the preliminary design, our proposal showcased terraces in the upper floors, offering panoramic views of the Frankfurt skyline. The staggered lamellas lent an immaterial appearance, enhancing the sculptural quality and creating a subtle landmark. The facade contrasted aluminum laths with dark reflective glass surfaces, providing a striking impression. Our design also included an elegant entrance lobby extending into the adjoining park, featuring refined materials.
