The winning design for the new Deutschlandhaus at Gänsemarkt in Hamburg’s city center was created by blending modern and elegant elements while preserving the historical spirit of the site. Inspired by the tradition of Hamburg’s Kontorhaus buildings, our design integrates seamlessly into the surrounding architecture. The 40,000 sqm building features red clinker brick exteriors, a light-filled, publicly accessible atrium with an ellipsoidal layout, and versatile office spaces. Additionally, it accommodates nearly 30 modern apartments, retail and dining areas on the ground floor, and an underground garage with about 175 parking spaces, meeting contemporary demands and offering a range of amenities. As a part of the competition team, I contributed to the development of this winning design
